Did You Know?

Dr. Sellinger’s extensive training and experience with aesthetic reconstructions sets him apart.

Any general dentist that has graduated from dental school can call themselves a cosmetic dentist. Dr. Sellinger has gone beyond the four years of dental school and has completed an additional four years of training to become a Board Certified Prosthodontist.

He is known for his reconstructions that can be completed in as little as two visits!

What is a Prosthodontist?

A Prosthodontist is one of the nine dental specialists recognized by the American Dental Association. In order to become a certified Prosthodontist, three additional years of training in an ADA accredited post-doctoral program are required after earning a dental degree. This training includes extensive clinical education as well as an in-depth education and research of dental materials, along with extensive training in all dental laboratory procedures.

Prosthodontics combines art and science to deliver the most natural looking smile with the highest level of function.

Of the approximate 175,000 dentists less than 2 percent are prosthodontists. It is the only recognized specialty that deals with the aesthetic and functional aspects of crowns veneers, implant dentistry and full mouth rehabilitation.

What tooth problems do prosthodontists solve?

  • Missing teeth → individual or multiple
  • Full mouth reconstruction or rehabilitation
  • Complete replacement of all the teeth in the mouth
  • Complex aesthetic challenges
  • Tooth discoloration after root canals
  • Worn, uneven or misshapen teeth
  • Any discoloration: stained, yellowing, dull
  • Replacement of defective or unsightly silver fillings
  • Replacement of defective or leaking composite fillings
  • Replacement of old worn or ill fitting crowns and bridges
  • Spacing in the front teeth
  • Correction of misaligned teeth
  • Tooth repair and replacement from a traumatic accident
