What is a Prosthodontist?
A Prosthodontist is one of the nine dental specialists recognized by the American Dental Association. In order to become a certified Prosthodontist, three additional years of training in an ADA accredited post-doctoral program are required after earning a dental degree. This training includes extensive clinical education as well as an in-depth education and research of dental materials, along with extensive training in all dental laboratory procedures.
Prosthodontics combines art and science to deliver the most natural looking smile with the highest level of function.
Of the approximate 175,000 dentists less than 2 percent are prosthodontists. It is the only recognized specialty that deals with the aesthetic and functional aspects of crowns veneers, implant dentistry and full mouth rehabilitation.
What tooth problems do prosthodontists solve?
